Ok, I really had to post this after watching a few videos of Fibromyalgics (Fibromites) -- those of us afflicted with Fibromyalgia.
To someone without FMS, they look like a bunch of frikken whiners. Some of them did seem whiny tonight, even to me.
Fibro (FMS) IS horrible, often hellish. I am hurting all over even as I post this. However, it's NOT terminal. It's not deadly, even though we feel like we're dying. Our organs aren't being destroyed as in Lupus. Our joints won't become misshapen as occurs in Rheumatoid Arthritis. We just feel like, well, shit!
Of course most of us with FMS have many more symptoms: fibro fog, difficulty concentrating, muscle spasms, neuropathy (tingling, burning feeling in extremities), headaches, back pain, tinnitis, crashing fatigue and so on.
A friend and her daughter were recently diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease. That disease is more deadly than childhood cancer, yet most of us haven't heard about it. I watched a YouTube video about it, and some of the symptoms are shared in FMS, like fatigue. But all the effects are horrible, then they die, because there is no cure. There's no known cure for Fibromyalgia either, but FMS is NOT deadly.
What a wake up call!
The list of symptoms of Fibromyalgia is NOT a party, but it's not going to kill me. I just need to continue to arm myself with knowledge and keep on keepin' on.
I have Fibro and I am lucky!
