I called the rheumy's office because it's been a week and I had not received a call with my test results.
I also wanted to know what tests were run, so if I go to the family doctor or a gastroenterologist they won't run the same tests.
Typical of Fibromyalgia, everything was negative except for ANA, which was positive again but we don't know why, and my Vitamin D level was just below normal, but nothing that the rheumy thinks I need to take action on at this time.
I told the nurse how I am considering giving gluten free a try.
Her response:
"Oh yeah, a lot of our Fibromyalgia patients have found that gluten free has helped reduce their symptoms quite a bit."
That's very interesting information that the doctor could have mentioned at any of my numerous visits...but NEVER did.
Reinforces my thinking that it is in doctor's (some) self interests for us to stay sick. Stay sick, & you can keep coming to the doctor, if not for actual healing, you'll come back for the cornucopia of drugs.
If you haven't researched gluten intolerance, gluten sensitivity, and celiac, do so today.
The standard warning "Consult your doctor before starting any diet/fitness/medical thing" applies. Although I don't really know why. Harumpf!!!
I'm disgusted.
