My symptom diary from beginning of Fibromyalgia

Now here are my notes starting from September 2011, when I decided I should start tracking my symptoms. Naturally, I thought I was going crazy.

I did not yet know it was Fibromyalgia.

September 6, 2011:

Middle of night, burning/tissues/muscles felt hot. Thighs at side, forearms, back of upper arms. This woke me up.

Confirmed with older brother psoriasis in family (he has psoriasis also).

September 7, 2011:

a.m. - Wrists hurt, lower back, ankles, feet, shoulders and neck are stiff. Fingers painful at knuckle/first joints. Fingers feel stiff and/or swollen.

3:30 p.m. Slow moving. Walked dog and tired.
4 p.m. Lay down to nap.
4:15-4:30 feel like every joint hurts, like each joint needs to be popped.

September 8, 2011:

a.m. - Whole body hurts, fingers and middle joint of finger painful and stiff. Especially elbows, knees, ankles -- hurts ankles to walk. Cold water helps hands.

September 10, 2011:

Pain left knee at inside of knee but not too bad feeling overall -- feeling okay.

September 12, 2011:

Knees burning feeling inside part, also elbows, trip to park required 2 Advils to premedicate and took 2 hour nap when I got home.

September 13, 2011:

Fatigue and some left inner knee pain. Fatigue but good day overall (Spine hurt somewhat in the afternoon)

September 14, 2011:

Stiff hands, more problems on the right. Difficulty holding things, dropping things repeatedly. Upset about it. Period started 4 days early for 2nd time row. Pain: Finger joints, ankles, feet throbbing, knees, elbows, wrists. Head congestion.

At some point after this, I went to the Rheumatologist, because the next entry mentions Prednisone, that my Rheumatologist had me take for a week. For the first half of the week, it made me feel better, but then my symptoms came back. (If the Prednisone had made me feel like a new person the entire week, then it would be more likely I had Lupus, so that I started feeling bad was actually a GOOD sign! I do not want to have Lupus, that's for sure.)

Saturday, October 2, 2011:

Woke up at 6 a.m. Developed head cold and sore throat and earaches.

First day taking Prenisone -- less pain, less stiff. Was at Farmers Market 4-5 hours but weather cooler so I did fine. Usually it takes me to Monday or Tuesday after the Saturday market to feel better. Took 1 hour afternoon nap, and was refreshed like I slept 8 hours. Weird because usually even a 3 hour nap feels like nothing at all.

Sunday October 3, 2011:

Woke up at 5:30 a.m. Felt even better today - energy up. I was able to do a lot more stuff in the house (at least 6 loads of laundry, all washed and put away, when normally it's like mountain climbing effort to just fold ONE load of clothes.) Still had sore throat and ear pain but rest of me felt pretty good so I didn't care.

Around 9 p.m., felt some joint aches -- not evenly bilateral, but left elbow, right finger joints, right knee or left ankle for example.  Still not as bad as usual.

10:15 p.m.: had been lying down for a rest. Got up and had quick onset of heartburn. Took a Tums. Reminded myself to take note of this, because I have had some trouble with this over the last few months.
