Well. I think I am done going to a rheumatologist.
My rheumy prescribed Tramadol (Ultram) and Flexeril to me at the same time, never telling me not to mix them.
A couple nights ago, I took 1 Tramadol for pain and 1 Benadyrl as a sleep aid. I wasn't able to sleep, so I took a Flexeril as well.
All through the night I awoke to twitches and jerking. A lot of it was my right arm, and I remember wondering if I could be having a stroke.
Now in hindsight, I realize I was feeling so weird I should have called 911, but I felt really heavy and didn't have any different or disturbing pain and I drifted off again.
Doing a bit of research because I was curious, I found this Drugs.com alert:
http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/flexeril-with-tramadol-758-386-2221-0.html
It is very dangerous to combine these drugs, and I think Fibromyalgia sufferers are extra sensitive to medications.
I'm pretty irritated by this and have decided to go totally off these medications. I don't think I was getting enough benefit from them to outweigh the risk of Serotonin Syndrome anyway.
Oh and this same doctor ALSO prescribed Amitryptylene (Elavil) -- another drug that would increase Seotonin and increase my risk. I had only taken that one for three days before I had terrible mood changes so I immediately stoped that one.
Who to trust?
