Chemical reaction?

Had some chocolate cake last night. It was Pillsbury Devil's Food cake with Duncan Hines' chocolate frosting. I know this because I made it myself. After eating just a few bites, I realized my throat was burning. My daughter was also eating this cake. I asked her if it kind of stung her throat. She said "no -- and I'm sure that means you shouldn't eat it, mom!" So I stopped eating it, obviously. I thought maybe it could be the salt in the food, but if she wasn't feeling that, then it was me.

This morning, the edges of my upper lip are somewhat sore and the edge isn't defined. It's like an allergic reaction.

It could be the eggs, because I know a lot of people have egg allergies, but I've eaten eggs many times before and never had a problem, so I am leaning toward thinking it's chemical sensitivities.

If I can't eat anything with chemicals, I suppose I can count on losing weight!
