A-ha Moment

The Dr Oz show about undiagnosed allergies opened my mind up to something. I didn't have Fibromyalgia and THEN get allergies. I had allergies to molds, weeds, and dairy protein casein for a long time, so long that the food allergen got through my blood/brain barrier & has caused neurological issues..ie Fibromyalgia.. Maybe it is time to get back to the allergist, not the rheumatologist.

Feeling better every day dairy free

I have been feeling much better since I stopped having any dairy. I have an allergy to a protein in milk called casein.

I am itchy here and there, but none of the intense all over itchiness anymore. I will have a random itchy area, but a quick scratch and it's gone. The skin burning that I thought was Allodynia has nearly completely gone.

I have random joint burning, but none of this is as intense or disabling as before. I do still try to get a nap at about 3 p.m. I know to be careful to not overdo just because I feel better.

I continue to take Zyrtec every night. By doing this and avoiding dairy, I hope that I will continue to move toxins out of my body and feel even better in a few weeks.

Chemical sensitivity is common with Fibromyalgia

At Kohl's store, felt fine then sudden stomach ugh/nausea, headache. Need to go to the bathroom, diarrhea. Then my daughter pointed out that we were near a large candle/potpourri/insence/oils section. Got away from there fast.

Usually I don't have trouble in Kohls as I do with most stores. Even the fabric dyes and chemical fabric treatments can make me sick in some places.

There is nothing to do except try to avoid offending substances.

Hair pulling even with exercise

I took a rather long walk with my dog a couple days ago & later I pulled many of my eyelashes and some of eyebrow hair out.

We're often advised to get exercise to reduce stress to avoid pulling. Yet I pulled MORE. I don't know why that would be, unless being outside stirred up allergies.

Chemical reaction?

Had some chocolate cake last night. It was Pillsbury Devil's Food cake with Duncan Hines' chocolate frosting. I know this because I made it myself. After eating just a few bites, I realized my throat was burning. My daughter was also eating this cake. I asked her if it kind of stung her throat. She said "no -- and I'm sure that means you shouldn't eat it, mom!" So I stopped eating it, obviously. I thought maybe it could be the salt in the food, but if she wasn't feeling that, then it was me.

This morning, the edges of my upper lip are somewhat sore and the edge isn't defined. It's like an allergic reaction.

It could be the eggs, because I know a lot of people have egg allergies, but I've eaten eggs many times before and never had a problem, so I am leaning toward thinking it's chemical sensitivities.

If I can't eat anything with chemicals, I suppose I can count on losing weight!
