Feeling good then instantly sick

Was taking a walk with my son, was feeling pretty good...I even thought to myself how I was feeling pretty well, only very slight background pain that I could ignore.

We got around to another block and suddenly my gut churned and I knew I had to get home to have diarrhea.

So I walked home really fast but almost not fast enough...but whew, I made it.

Now I'm lying down, my joints are burning inside, my lower back feels hot and hurts and I have a headache in my temples. I am so sick of this.

Face pain - Sinusitis or Fibromyalgia?

Yesterday I had terrible face pain. It was behind my eyes, at my sinuses in both my forehead and cheeks, spread to my temples and jaw. No fever, but it felt awful. I had to lie down and put a cool washcloth on my head. The pain caused tightness and tension in my neck and shoulders.

I used to think I had chronic sinusitis. Now I am catching on to my pain in that area as being face pain from Fibromyalgia and often not sinus problems at all. After all, with that level of pain, if it truly was a sinus infection, I could not wake up feeling all better...at least as far as my head is concerned. A true infection would have gotten worse and/or caused a fever.

Fibromyalgia helps us find muscles we never knew we had!

Morning stiffness and pain

Ah, yesterday I felt oddly great, almost normal. This morning I woke up with lots of back pain and really pain just about everywhere.

The new thing was my hands were very stiff, like my skin was too tight to stretch when I made a fist. That is a scary new symptom which could mean Scleroderma.

But one time doesn't mean I have it. Worth mentioning to my doctor
.
I also have a headache and some congestion, which could be due to only wearing the CPAP 2 hours. I apparently slept roughly because I took off the CPAP in my sleep and the foam pad on my bed was all bunched up, which added to my discomfort.

I didn't take any medications before bed because I was feeling so good then.

First dose of Effexor

I'm writing this at 3 o'clock in the morning, approximately 6 hours after my first dose of Effexor 75 mg
I woke up suddenly, and felt like my eyes couldn't focus well. Then I felt like I had rapid eye movement. Next, I felt very warm and the room seemed suddenly very small...I felt claustrophobic, kind of shaky and panicky. I calmed myself by telling myself it was probably caused by the medication.

Now I feel somewhat strange overall, with slight headache, feel nauseated, and my ears are ringing loudly. My ears ring most of the time anyway.

I'm unhappy that this seems to be another drug I cannot take. I was hoping this one could help, especially with the Trichotillomania.

However, I would rather be a pretty normal person who happens to pull her hair than have panic attack in my own bedroom!

This is really scary. I think I'll read the warning sheet for the drug one more time before I take it again.

4 am: Headache worse, diarrhea.

7 am: Nausea, headache, watery diarrhea.

9:30 am: Still bad headache at forehead and face. Stomach still hurts but tolerable.

I took my temperature throughout and it has stayed normal.

I really don't think I want to take this medicine again.

7:15 pm: Still feel queasy, headache, occasional gas & diarrhea. When will this stuff leave my body?!?

Menstrual Migraine

My period wasn't due for a couple more days, so I didn't think the headache I had felt building up today was related to my menstrual cycle. Now it's up to migraine level and I found that my period is starting. Well! So I took an Advil. I hope it will help. I took a Tramadol earlier today and my day hasn't been great. So how bad would it have been if I had NOT taken the pain medicine?!?

There really is a thing called Menstrual Migraine, it turns out. Hormone levels drop right before the period starts. Although the headache isn't fun, I'm glad to see "Aunt Flo" arrive. My periods are getting closer together and shorter. I welcome Menopause mostly.

Previously I had hoped that my Fibromyalgia symptoms might chill out after Menopause, but now I know many post-menopausal women with Fibro. Menopause meant no change in their FMS problems. Well, damn.

I managed to bake some bar cookies and plant 3 gladiolas bulbs and 3 Verbena plants earlier today. My son was home from school today because he had fever yesterday.
